Association Editions

Accessible editions and research projects that recover, contextualise and bring essential works back into circulation.

Books · editing · research · Editorial programme

A publishing programme centred on Galician culture, also open to works from other traditions when there is a clear cultural, historical or editorial connection.

Two editorial lines

Association Editions aims to combine two levels of reading. On one side, carefully prepared and accessible editions that recover essential texts and place them in context. On the other, more specialised editions devoted to complete works, extensive corpora, documentary sources and projects requiring deeper editorial and philological work.

Letras Galegas Collection

The Letras Galegas collection offers clear contemporary editions of major works of Galician literature. Each volume may include a collection introduction, bibliographic record, editorial note, author profile, historical context, chronology, contents, glossary, notes, bibliography and a text prepared for both digital and print reading.

Scholarly and complete-works editions

The second line is intended for larger projects: complete works, editorial reconstructions, source comparison, variants, chronologies, documentary indexes and contextual studies. The aim is not to accumulate texts, but to build usable editions with transparent criteria that can be expanded over time.

First editorial projects

The programme is in development. Projects already underway or under consideration include:

  • Rosalía de Castro · Complete Works. A project bringing together poetry, fiction and prose, with Cantares Gallegos as the first volume in the Letras Galegas collection. The complete edition has particular significance in 2027, a Jacobean Holy Year and the 190th anniversary of Rosalía’s birth.
  • Federico García Lorca · Complete Works. A collected and structured edition of poetry, theatre and prose, with particular attention to sources, the different stages of his work and Seis poemas galegos. The project coincides in 2026 with the 90th anniversary of his death.
  • Emilia Pardo Bazán · recovery of novels, essays and short-story collections, with particular attention to the bibliographic reconstruction of her story volumes.
  • Eduardo Pondal · Queixumes dos pinos; Curros Enríquez · Aires da miña terra; Manuel Antonio · De catro a catro, together with other key works of Galician literature.
  • Concepción Arenal, Lamas Carvajal, Valle-Inclán and other authors linked to Galician cultural history form part of the working catalogue for future editions.

Editions made to be read and preserved

Association editions are designed to circulate in several formats: web reading, PDF, print-ready files and EPUB where appropriate. The design is shared across the Mestre Mateo Digital Library and is accompanied by editorial criteria, indexes and contextual information.

The programme is centred on Galicia, its languages and traditions, but it is not conceived as a closed catalogue: authors and works from other literatures may also be included when the project clearly connects with Galician culture, the Association’s research or the Digital Library.
