Natural park created on 30 July 1997, covering 9,126 hectares along the banks of the Eume river, in the municipalities of Cabanas, A Capela, Monfero, Pontedeume and As Pontes. It is regarded as the best-preserved coastal Atlantic forest in Europe and is also a Special Area of Conservation.
