Federico García Lorca is included in the Compendio because of his direct relationship with Galician language and culture, especially through Seis poemas galegos.
Federico García Lorca was born in Fuente Vaqueros, Granada, in 1898 and died in 1936. He was a poet, playwright and theatre director associated with the Generation of '27. His work spans poetry and drama and holds a central place in 20th-century Spanish literary culture.
His relationship with Galicia found a distinctive expression in Seis poemas galegos. The Royal Galician Academy records that the volume finished printing on 27 December 1935 at Editorial Nós in Santiago de Compostela, directed by Ánxel Casal, with a foreword by Eduardo Blanco Amor, who played an active role in the editorial process.
